Man, I paint some freaky looking flowers!
This is my Tobacco Fairy. Who knew tobacco flowers were so pretty? She isn’t quite the same as my original planning sketch but I like to think that this painting has its own character. Perhaps a little more upbeat?
I always find it super annoying when the thing you paint looks awful when you scan it. It has always been a bit of a sore subject with me. The painting above is case in point. I don’t know if its the lighting in the scanner or the lighting out of the scanner but it feels as though something is lost.
This could just be normal artistic paranoia but it will always remain one of my hang ups.
She will either fix your steam engine or kick your butt. Either way she will look cool doing it. I love whipping this sort of stuff out in my lunch hour. Especially when I’m going through a pants art patch.
She’s only in her first iteration but I’m liking the chilled-outness of Nightshade.
I’m especially pleased with how her legs have come out. Come out? Well I suppose they do sprout out her hips. Any who, time for a cup of tea and a procrastination about what I do next!
I’ve always pictured Elsa as being really musical. Drawing this in biro was a bit of a bugger because of the blotching but I’m really pleased with how this turned out.
As predicted, I changed the design of Wino Fairy. I thought she looked too cherub like, too jolly. A true wino fairy would look disheveled, out of it and well…pissed.
Once this delightful creature is finished I’ll get a better scan up on here for you to see.
I love lazy Sunday afternoons! Especially when I finish a piece I’ve been working on for days!
I even hung this one on the wall.
I love my current sketchbook. It is the only place I can allow myself to draw crap things that never have to see the light of day and develop ideas.
Wino is still in her early phase of crap/development but so far so good. I’ll have to think of an epic backstory for her as I scribble.
